About the role
You’ll build the backend and cloud architecture connecting Cortex controllers to Synapse, our development environment for industrial machines. Your work will span APIs, device connectivity, telemetry pipelines, data storage, and the application features engineers use to deploy, monitor, and debug their systems. - Architect backend services and cloud systems for controller connectivity, application state, and industrial data, with clear paths to thousands or millions of users and devices
- Develop reliable APIs, data models, and service boundaries that support growth without making the early product unnecessarily complex
- Build telemetry ingestion, storage, and querying, with explicit decisions about throughput, latency, consistency, and failure handling
- Own production reliability and observability, investigate incidents and remove bottlenecks using measured evidence
- Deliver TypeScript/React features in Synapse for deployment, monitoring, debugging, and working with machine data
- Ship tested software through CI/CD with clear rollout, rollback, and recovery paths
