About the role
Own a ground station hardware (electrical and mechanical) project from inception, through design, production, and field deployment. Get hands on experience building complex ground support equipment (GSE), wire harnesses, and GSE test setups.
What they're looking for
- Enrolled in a bachelor’s or graduate level program in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field
- Ability to relocate to Los Angeles, CA for 12-weeks during Summer 2027
- Ability to work in a professional team environment, including direct communication with engineers, management, technicians, and external companies on behalf of Northwood
- GPA of 3.5 or above
- Prior applicable experience, outside of the classroom, in designing, building, and testing complex electrical and mechanical systems
- Involvement in competitions and leadership: FSAE, rocket clubs, robotics clubs, IEEE, college athletics, etc

You’ll be working directly with real hardware, and the choices you make will have a lasting impact on our operations and business. We’re looking for a versatile candidate, who can be a jack-of-all trades mechanical engineer, electrical systems engineer, and builder. You will partner closely with external companies and cross-functional internal teams to complete your project on a tight timeline.
