About the role
We are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to build the software that connects Revel's real-time control system to operators and applications. Our backend includes the core runtime that executes RevelCode – our proprietary language for deterministic hardware control – the command and telemetry bus, and the services and APIs behind the Revel Console.
What they're looking for
- 7+ years of backend or systems engineering experience
- Proficiency in Rust, or strong C++ and systems programming experience with a genuine interest in learning Rust
- Production experience with concurrent programming, network communication, and message delivery, streaming data, or real-time transport
- Ability to diagnose complex system behavior and make sound design decisions when requirements are still taking shape
- Experience building and operating services where failure has consequences beyond a retry
