About the role
We’re seeking a self-sufficient, detail-oriented Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager to own accounting and help run day-to-day finance operations at Slope. You’ll lead the monthly close, annual audit, and externally managed tax processes, while keeping cash reconciliations, remittances, and financial reporting accurate and on schedule. What they're looking for
- Strong hands-on accounting experience, including ownership of monthly close and reconciliations. Public accounting experience is preferred, fintech lending or startup experience is a plus
- Experience running or supporting external audits from end to end
- Hands-on expertise with QuickBooks, monthly close, financial statement preparation, and technical accounting, plus the ability to execute recurring cash reconciliations, payment workflows, and operational reporting
- Familiarity with loan accounting, equity accounting, and stock comp
- Startup mindset: comfortable taking over existing processes quickly, managing daily and monthly deadlines, documenting work, and escalating discrepancies with autonomy
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, no ego, low politics
