About the role
As Product Counsel, you'll be a trusted legal partner for the Product organization. This isn't a role for someone who wants to review finished specs from the sidelines. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Legal, you'll counsel teams from the earliest design conversations through launch, implement privacy-by-design across the company, and give practical, real-time advice that balances legal risk against the speed the business needs.
What they're looking for
- JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing
- 3-6 years’ experience counseling product and engineering teams on privacy and technology matters
- Strong healthcare privacy and data-protection foundation—HIPAA/HITECH plus U.S. state privacy laws—ideally in a healthcare, digital-health, or other regulated environment
- Fluency across the product-counsel toolkit: AI/ML, intellectual property, consumer protection, and advertising/marketing law
- Sound instincts on risk versus velocity, and the judgment to land on real answers instead of hedges
- Excellent communication and cross-functional skills—you can boil a complex issue down to a bottom line product and engineering can act on
