About the role
Tanium is seeking a highly motivated, proactive attorney to join its legal team as Employment Counsel. The right person for this position must be a team player who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, has a pragmatic approach to problem solving, and is passionate about employment law and its practical application in a complex, global technology business.
What they're looking for
- At least 5 years of relevant employment law experience at a law firm and/or in-house legal department
- JD from an accredited institution
- Active and in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. federal and state employment laws, including FLSA, ADA, FMLA, Title VII, and state equivalents
- Experience conducting or managing workplace investigations
- Familiarity with federal contractor compliance obligations, including OFCCP audits, AAP preparation, and VEVRAA and Section 503 requirements

This person will serve as a trusted advisor to our People team and business stakeholders , helping Tanium attract, develop, and retain top talent while managing legal risk.
This position follows the Company’s hybrid schedule which currently requires employees to work in the office at one of the following locations a minimum of three days per week: Addison, TX; Bellevue, WA; Durham, NC; Emeryville, CA; or Reston, VA.
- Oversee internal workplace investigations, including matters involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower complaints, and policy violations
- Investigate and respond to claims, demand letters, administrative complaints, audits, and other employment-related inquiries
