Tanium is seeking a highly motivated, proactive attorney to join our legal team as product counsel . The right person for this position must be self-motivated, intellectually curious and willing to dig deep into the development of our products to become a trusted advisor for engineering and product management. We need a team player who is comfortable working across the organization and has a pragmatic approach to problem solving .

- JD from an accredited institution
- Active and in good standing in at least one state bar
- At least 5 years of relevant legal experience at a law firm, government agency, and/or in-house, with substantive exposure to the software, SaaS, or related technology industry
- Working knowledge of global privacy laws and their impact on software product development
- Exceptionally good communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a tightly-knit legal team

- Provide practical legal advice and counseling on a full range of product-related issues that arise domestically and internationally
- Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering and Strategy teams through the entire product lifecycle to identify issues, recommend practical solutions, and assist cross-functional efforts to achieve go-to-market goals
- Serve as a legal advisor on AI matters, including advising on AI policies, liability, licensing, responsible AI development, deployment, and risk assessments
- Develop and enhance processes designed to ensure ongoing product compliance with global laws and regulations, including global privacy laws, data security, export control and trade compliance
