Verkada is the leading cloud-managed physical security platform, uniting hardware, software, and AI to deliver enterprise-scale security. As our ecosystem grows, our Mobile Core team is pivoting to a high-leverage Platform model.
What they're looking for
- 6+ years of professional Android development with a deep mastery of Kotlin and the Android SDK
- Infrastructure & Tooling: Strong experience with mobile CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions, Bitrise) and a "test-first" mentality. You enjoy building tools that make other engineers more productive
- Networking & Protocols: Deep understanding of the networking stack (OkHttp, Retrofit, Protobuf) and experience handling unreliable network conditions at scale
- Hardware & Connectivity: Hands-on experience with Bluetooth (BLE) , NFC, or the nuances of Android background execution limits
- Modern UI Mastery: Expert proficiency in Jetpack Compose and experience scaling shared UI libraries across multiple teams
- Release Engineering: Experience managing the complexity of the Google Play Store release cycle for apps with high deployment frequency and multiple contributors
