About the role
The Field Engineer is a hands-on technical contributor responsible for diagnosing and resolving vehicle software and hardware issues to keep the fleet operational. They will play a critical role in rapid fault triage, ensuring a 5-minute response time while strictly adhering to safety protocols. Working closely with fellow engineers and global teams, they will contribute to seamless operations through effective communication and problem solving.
What they're looking for
- Perform on-site fault triage and resolution, diagnosing and repairing vehicle software and hardware issues quickly to maintain fleet uptime
- Follow structured fault diagnosis and repair protocols, ensuring all work is carried out efficiently and in alignment with operational workflows
- Collaborate with fellow field engineers and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively
- Respond rapidly to issues, meeting the 5-minute issue response to keep vehicles operational and our teams feeling adequately supported
- Maintain clear communication with the Field Engineering Lead, providing updates on ongoing repairs and ensuring smooth handovers across geographical locations
- Participate in on-call rotations, assisting with technical support and issue resolution across multiple regions as part of a 24/7 global support network
