• Conducting a defined engineering or process improvement project with clear scope and deliverables • Applying graduate-level technical knowledge to real manufacturing challenges in slider/HGA operations

  • Currently pursuing in Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science , or related field
  • Completed Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline
  • Strong academic record with active thesis or research project
  • Available for 3-6 months structured internship
  • Advanced technical problem-solving and research skills
  • Data analysis proficiency (Minitab, Python, MATLAB, or equivalent)
More about this role

The Engineering Intern (Master's Level) will join Western Digital's Head Backend Business Unit for a structured 3-6 month internship at the Thailand site (THO). This role is designed for graduate students who bring advanced engineering knowledge and research experience, and who are expected to contribute at a higher technical level than undergraduate interns.

Interns will be embedded in the THO Engineering organization, assigned a senior engineer mentor, and expected to lead a defined technical project with measurable outcomes. High-performing interns will be considered for conversion to the ECT - under the BEST Program.

• Conducting a defined engineering or process improvement project with clear scope and deliverables

• Applying graduate-level technical knowledge to real manufacturing challenges in slider/HGA operations

• Performing data analysis, technical documentation, and experiment design under mentor guidance

• Presenting findings to engineering team at mid-point and program close

• Contributing technical insights that can be carried forward post-internship

• Participating in structured learning sessions, assessments, and IDP-lite conversations
