About the role
Research, evaluate, select, and qualify electronic components for new product development and sustaining programs, ensuring alignment with design, performance, reliability, regulatory, and cost requirements. Own component lifecycle and supply risk management, including technical triage of Product Change Notifications, obsolescence planning, alternate component qualification, single-source risk mitigation, and supply continuity initiatives.
What they're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience in electronic component engineering, component management, electrical engineering, or a related hardware engineering role
- Strong knowledge of electronic components such as semiconductors, resistors, capacitors, connectors, and other electrical components, including their applications, manufacturing considerations, and use in electronic designs
- Experience with component selection, qualification, lifecycle management, electrical testing, reliability requirements, failure analysis, and alternate component evaluation
- Familiarity with component lifecycle and BOM management practices, including obsolescence, Product Change Notifications, sourcing risk, alternate availability, and component management or PLM systems
- Working knowledge of relevant industry and regulatory requirements such as RoHS, UL, IPC, and other standards applicable to electronic hardware products
