About the role
Join the team at Baidu USA and help developers and companies build AI applications powered by real-time web search. We’re looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer Intern who can bridge the gap between our technology and the customers building with it. You’ll work directly with customers to understand their use cases, design solutions, build prototypes, troubleshoot integrations, and help move applications from early testing to production.
What they're looking for
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or a similar language
- Experience working with REST APIs, backend systems, or web applications
- Familiarity with modern AI application stacks, including LLMs, RAG, agents, or retrieval systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug technical issues independently
- Comfortable communicating directly with customers and explaining technical concepts clearly

We’re looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer Intern who can bridge the gap between our technology and the customers building with it. This is a full-time, on-site internship based in the Bay Area. The initial internship period is 3 months, with the possibility to extend based on performance and business needs.
This is a highly hands-on engineering role. You should be comfortable writing code, working with APIs, debugging technical issues, and communicating directly with customers. You’ll also work closely with our Product, Engineering, and Business teams to bring customer feedback back into the product.
