About the role
Lead, develop, and retain a team of tax professionals, establishing clear goals, providing ongoing coaching and performance feedback, and building a high-performing team culture aligned to Box's values. Own all aspects of federal, state, and international tax compliance, including oversight of corporate income tax returns, estimated tax payments, and related filings to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery.
What they're looking for

- You have 8+ years of progressive corporate tax experience, including 3+ years in a people leadership role, ideally within a public technology company or Big 4 public accounting firm
- You hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, CPA and/or advanced degree (MST or JD) is strongly preferred
- You have deep technical expertise in US federal and state corporate income tax, ASC 740 tax provision, and international tax concepts including transfer pricing, GILTI, and BEAT
- You are a skilled communicator who can translate complex tax issues into clear, actionable guidance for non-tax audiences, including CFO-level and executive stakeholders
- You have a demonstrated track record of building and developing high-performing teams, with a hands-on leadership style that balances strategic vision with operational execution
