About the role
The Bill Pay team is a high-functioning, product led team supported by product and design, building and leading the next generation of Accounts Payable (AP) software. We’re looking for an engineering leader to have strong opinions on technical design and the willingness and eagerness to jump on customer calls. This is one of the most important roles in Brex engineering as it perfectly sits between our Expense Management and Banking products.

- Track record of engineering leadership building and scaling customer-facing products, including hiring and growing teams
- Strong product sense the ability to make and defend product and UX tradeoffs, not just technical ones
- A staff-engineer-level technical bar, able to operate at all levels and earn the technical respect of a strong engineering team
- Strong customer empathy and advocacy
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated coaching and mentorship of engineers across levels
