We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the marimo team across the open-source ecosystem and molab. You will mentor engineers, provide regular feedback, and help develop their careers, while also helping hire and onboard new teammates. - 5+ years of software engineering experience
- 2+ years of engineering management experience leading senior engineers and technical leads
- Proficient in Python, with strong fundamentals that are language agnostic
- Experience contributing to open-source projects
- Technical depth to lead design and architecture reviews and evaluate tradeoffs involving APIs, state management, scalability, security, and reliability
- Experience improving engineering practices, including automated testing, CI/CD, and code review

The marimo team develops marimo, an open-source reactive computational notebook for Python. Initially incubated with scientists at Stanford, marimo is now used by leading companies, labs, and universities around the world, with millions of monthly downloads and over 20,000 stars on our GitHub repository . The team also develops open-source extension packages and molab , a rapidly growing cloud-hosted notebook service. These efforts reinforce each other: improvements to the open-source notebook make molab better, while lessons from operating molab inform development of the open-source projects.
