About the role
AI maturity is a prioritised target for Oda in 2026 — and will be the base off which we “re-found” Oda as an “AI mature” company in 2027 and beyond. We've already brought on a strong infrastructure engineer to build the technical core of our new AI Enablement Team.
What they're looking for
- A track record of operating at a senior technical leadership level - staff/principal engineer, technical director, VP of engineering, or founder - where you set direction that led to impact rather than just executed someone else's roadmap
- Fluency moving between registers: you can whiteboard trade-offs with the executive team in the morning and be in an editor shipping working code in the afternoon. We need both, in the same person
- Real experience owning outcomes in front of leadership - presenting trade-offs, defending priorities, being accountable for a number, not just a delivery date
- Hands-on, current technical depth: comfortable with LLM APIs, prompt architecture, agent frameworks, and either low-code or full-code tools, well enough to build something real yourself, not just spec it for others
- Experience running programs, workshops, or communities across a mixed audience of technical and non-technical stakeholders
- High autonomy and the confidence to set direction in ambiguity - you're not waiting for someone to hand you a roadmap

We started by building Norway's leading online grocery store, and we're building one of the most effective retail systems in the world, delivering groceries to thousands of Scandinavian doorsteps every week.

What we're missing is someone senior enough to set the agenda, not just execute one: someone with deep passion for AI and the charisma and experience needed to lead the way to greatness - who never stopped being technical enough to open an editor and prove the point themselves.
You will report directly to the CTO and sit where Oda's AI strategy actually gets decided - not as a note-taker, but as a co-author. You'll be the most senior technical voice the organization interacts with on AI.
