About Scotch

Run your liquor store smarter with Scotch. Fast POS, real-time inventory, and built-in eCommerce — all in one system, designed exclusively for liquor retailers. Backed by Lerer Hippeau.

About the role

We're looking for a Product Designer to own key parts of Scotch's web-based back office, which store owners and managers use to run their business. You'll focus on how merchants manage customer orders, transactions, payments, and integrations, both the experiences that exist today and the new ones we build next. This isn't a role where you get handed requirements and asked for wireframes. Found on 1752vc Careers, the job board for startup and VC roles.

What they're looking for

  • 4+ years of product/UX design experience in a startup or fast-moving environment
  • Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end work, including research, problem framing, and shipped product
  • Experience designing data-heavy web products, such as dashboards, reports, or transaction views, that stay clear as complexity grows
  • Experience designing responsive experiences that work across desktop, tablet, and mobile
  • Strong visual and interaction design skills. You sweat the details that matter for users and know when to push and when to ship
  • A skilled researcher who can plan discovery, synthesize findings quickly, and turn ambiguous problems into clear design direction
More about this role

Scotch is building the next-generation operating system for beverage alcohol retailers — combining POS, payments, back office, and e-commerce into a platform purpose-built for liquor stores.

We’re modernizing one of the oldest industries in the world: the $1.6T beverage alcohol market. Our platform helps retailers run more efficiently through streamlined payments, inventory management, reporting, and day-to-day operations.

Our founders came from Skupos (acquired 2023) and Drizly (acquired by Uber). We've raised $28M from VMG Partners, First Round, Lerer Hippeau, Watchfire, and Toba Capital, with angels including the founder of Drizly and early Toast executives. Forbes has recognized Scotch as a leader in liquor retail tech. We closed a $20M Series A in 2026 off 500%+ YoY growth and $1B+ in processed payment volume.
