What they're looking for
- Being enough of an SME across the pod's span to say where this problem space should go: what to invest in now, what to sequence later, what to decline
- Owning the culture of their team and building a high-trust environment that allows the engineers to do impactful work and grow themselves and each other technically
- Partnering with PMs and Designers on planning, dependencies, timelines and risks and being the shortest path to solutions
- Hiring well, representing your team's work in the rooms where priorities get argued, as well as building a deep understanding of your engineer's work such that you can help them grow their impact
- Working in the open, and telling your leadership what's really going on early enough that nothing becomes a fire drill
- You’ve led engineering teams for 4+ years building high performance web or mobile applications
