About SpaceX

SpaceX designs, manufactures and launches advanced rockets and spacecraft. The company was founded in 2002 to revolutionize space technology, with the ultimate goal of enabling people to live on other planets. Backed by Kleiner Perkins, a16z and Founders Fund.

About the role

As a Mechanical Hardware Test Engineer, you will solve challenging, high impact problems for the Starlink network. We are producing complex vacuum amplifier hardware at orders of magnitude higher rate than anyone in history and this role will play a critical part in making it highly reliable. This requires extreme critical thinking skills and a desire to learn about nuanced, cutting edge technology. The most important skillset is demonstrated problem solving ability – in whatever form that may be. Found on 1752vc Careers, the job board for startup and VC roles.

What they're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in materials science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, chemical engineering, or other STEM discipline
  • 1+ years of experience in hardware development, failure analysis, or reliability engineering (internships, co-ops, and extracurriculars acceptable)
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed for mission critical dead lines
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom or ESD-controlled environment when required
More about this role

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.
