About the role

The AIG (Gifted and Talented) Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG) program across K-12 grade levels. The coordinator ensures appropriate identification, placement, instructional support, and enrichment opportunities for gifted students in alignment with district and state guidelines.   • This is a full-time remote position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties
  • Develop, oversee, and continuously improve the district's AIG plan in compliance with state regulations (e.g., NC DPI AIG Standards if in North Carolina)
  • Coordinate identification procedures, including screening, testing, data analysis, and placement decisions
  • Serve as the liaison between the school district and state departments regarding gifted education compliance and reporting
