About the role

As part of Waymo's Legal team, you will work on the exciting legal issues surrounding our transformational autonomous driving technology and help drive our business lines forward from technology ideation through scaled commercial deployment. We partner with our public policy, safety, security and privacy experts to define transportation policy for the autonomous driving world to come, advising on regulatory changes that support and protect our users around the world. What they're looking for

  • FCAS (Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society) strongly preferred. ACAS will be considered for exceptional candidates with standout technical and domain depth
  • Strong commercial instincts with a proven ability to translate ambiguous business problems into structured technical analyses, synthesize findings, and provide high-impact risk insights
  • Highly experienced actuary with a proven track record in casualty pricing, reserving, or risk modeling (commercial auto / transportation lines strongly preferred)
  • Fluent in R or Python, with advanced proficiency in SQL, spreadsheet modeling (Google Sheets / Excel), and data visualization tools
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field
  • Strong predisposition toward process automation and proven ability to rapidly learn, adapt, and leverage new AI tools, software libraries, and modern analytical platforms
